a Wedding at Longue Vue Gardens
Even on a dreary rainy day, Longue Vue is amazing. But on a beautiful sunny New Orleans day in May, Longue Vue House & Gardens is spectacular.

But this is New Orleans and after February it's hot. But fun parasols can help beat the heat and are a unique photography shot.

For me personally, a wedding at Longue Vue has always been one of my favorite places to create flowers. The lush surrounding gardens go hand in hand with our romantic garden-style aesthetic at Leaf + Petal NOLA.
A perfect mathc.

For color palette we went with shades of neutrals. This includes stark whites, creamy whites and pale ivories.
For design, we went with organically styled with no greenery. This let the focus be on the florals but we designed in a way they still had a lot of movement to the bouquets.

The landscaping and features of Longue Vue are truly remarkable. The English-style garden feel through out the property mixed with the old New Orleans live oaks is a perfect background for a wedding.

a Longue Vue Ceremony

Personally I love the versilitility of a ceremony at Longue Vue. Choosing to face either the house, utilizing the steps and their large garden urns, or facing the shallow pool, there are so many ways to design the space.

Here we kept the florals simple, creating two large swags of neutral ceremony flowers set on top of two simple white pedestals.

We kept the florals on the more tailored, clean side because the gardens surrounding the ceremony brought in so much lush greenery so this created a balance.
aisle markers at the base of chairs
Not wanting it to be too simple, we created these low-profile aisle markers of garden roses and line flowers to provide some impact for the aisle.

Since it was May, the couple provided guests with parasols and handheld paper fans which while functional, also added a fun aspect in the photography after the fact.

All in all, a gorgeous day to have a wedding at Longue Vue.
