Leaf + Petal NOLA was looking for the beautiful sunny spot to throw a gorgeous garden party and we found a perfect match at the Four Seasons.
So check out our ultimate garden party at the Fours Seasons in New Orleans.
courtyard ceremony set up at the Four Seasons New Orleans
On a gorgeous sunny day in New Orleans, we set out to create a fun, but classic, garden party at the Four Seasons with the help of Catherine Guidry, photographer extraordinaire.
white pedestals overflowing with neutral flowers
I wanted to create a ceremony style that reflected our 'garden party' theme but was also something a little different than a typical arch. We matched the front pedestal florals to the back aisle marker style in the back of the ceremony space to create a little more floral dimention in photography.
fun fringe umbrellas blocking the sun
When coming up with the overall concept, I also wanted to design using a neutral palette but still wanted to create a fun and engaging party feel. White wedding flowers can often feel stuffy or too traditional, so Leaf + Petal set out to create a more relaxed but still floral focused feel.
floral aisle hedges across the back aisle
The fringe umbrellas were a perfect addition to the ceremony, so much that we carried them all throughout our design. They were added to bars and table settings and ended up being a great addition to our garden party setting.
bar flowers + umbrellas
Off to the side in the courtyard of the Four Seasons there is a little nook, often overlooked, perfect for a bar set-up. We accented the bar area with umbrellas for a little shade and added florals to frame it out.
floral accents on bars are always a good idea
We are always pretty rose heavy here at Leaf + Petal NOLA and in addition to our beloved roses, we added in tons of huge white hydrangeas to create a little floral drama.
shaded floral farm tables in the courtyard of the Four Seaons New Orleans
When focusing on the tabletop design, I wanted to keep it pretty simple and not get too stuffy. We added umbrellas for a bit of shade and accented table bases with floral hedges designed to look like they are growing up the side of the table.
farm table decor for our garden party at the Four Seasons
For the farm table top itself, we used simple cylinder candles in mixed sizes with little pops of floral compotes throughout. While it's simple, it's classic and is a great way to give your white florals a relaxed feel.
floral gold compotes paired with candles for the ballroom at the Four Seasons
Moving inside the Four Seasons to the ballroom, we wanted to remove a little of the garden party feel we had outside in the courtyard and lean into a more ballroom wedding vibe.
We designed a mix of rounds and long farm style tables to create a little dimension in the room. To me, ballrooms can often feel very heavy and this helps create an airier feel to the room.
neutral florals with light accents of greens
For the rounds, we mixed sizes of gold compotes filled with neutral florals but kept the focus more on the floral than green. By adding in antique brass in the compote bases and taper candle holders, it helped create a warmth to the table settings.
overhead floral garland installation
For the long farm tables, we created a an overhead garland-style installation with lush neutral flowers, broken up with huckleberry branches.
I'm in love with the cane back chairs Lovegood Rentals brought to go with their farm table. They were a perfect accent to the flowers.
candle heavy table with a floral overhead installation
While we did lean into a more ballroom style of florals for inside the Four Seasons we still tried to avoid that super traditional (and a little dated) ballroom feel.
To create a little more relaxed feeling to the table, we mixed our candle styles and sizes. Warm brass combined with glass cylinder candles and simple little votives created a beautiful glow to our head table design.
And to top off our garden party at the Four Seasons in New Orleans, they brought us champagne to toast to a gorgeous day.
Cheers!
